Bahiagrass pasture with grazing cattle

In this video, Brittney Goodrich, an Alabama Extension specialist and member of the farm and agribusiness management team, discusses  pasture, rangeland, and forage insurance (PRF). PRF is an insurance product offered nationwide by the USDA Risk Management Agency.

This insures against low rainfall that would decrease perennial forage yields, lower revenues, or increase livestock feeding costs. Row crop farmer have had access to crop insurance for decades, while livestock producers have traditionally been underserved in this area.
